Addison Rotary Meeting Members present:
The meeting opened with Pledge and 4-Way Test. Dinner and "A Christmas Story" outing is at Pheasant Run on Friday. Checks were written for the following: Cal presented a check for $350 to Fernando with the club's thanks for his service through the year. Noel Rolle announced that the Golf Dome Opening will be held from 3-6:00pm on December 11. Tom Geraghty reported that the Addison Rotary holds one CD that's over $11,000 and one that is $10,900. Cal George spoke about the membership drive, encouraging all members to bring in a new member. Raising community awareness of the club and its activities is important. We can invite businesses (individually and through ACCI) and community members to a breakfast, where we each need to share the message of what Rotary does. Tom will invite the clergy. We will target a date in late January for the breakfast meeting. Rotary matching funds may be available for the event. We need to refresh our brochure/membership form. Next week's guests are the ATHS Shades of Blue choir group. Members are to bring a $20 wrapped present for the gift exchange which will follow lunch. Next year an ad should be placed in the newpapers to publicize the citrus sale. Bill Schaub reported that the citrus fruit will arrive on Friday. Also, there are no mixed fruit cartons in the 4/5 bushel size, they only come in the 2/5 cartons, so we will charge customers $21 for the smaller boxes, returning $10 to anyone who ordered the larger size. |
