Addison Rotary Meeting Members present:
Guests: Steve Humphrey & Sherri Anderson, DuPage High School District 88 The meeting opened with ‘ America ', the pledge, the 4 Way Test and prayer. Steve Humphrey, Sherri Anderson and Scott Helton shared information about District 88: -New District website was rolled out in May. It's easier to navigate and has more current information available to users. Addison Trail and Willowbrook's website redesigns are currently underway -Young Hearts for Life – On Thursday, February 11, EKGs will be offered to all Addison Trail students for free. This cardiac screening project is intended to detect heart problems that in students. Hundreds of volunteers are needed for two shifts 6:15-10:45am or 10:15am-2:45pm. Volunteers will be required to attend a training session on Wednesday, February 10 from 5:30-7pm or 7-8:30pm. If you are interested in volunteering, contact Sherri, Scott or Steve -District 88 is looking for input for their upcoming vision planning. Anyone interested in attending these future planning sessions is invited to participate. -Academically, Addison Trail staff has been working to eliminate the achievement gap between white students and ethnic groups. The Chicago Sun Times featured the school in an article which reports on the successes that have occurred at ATHS. Dictionaries for Addison's 3rd graders will be labeled and sorted next Thursday, Nov 19 at District 4 Administrative Offices, 222 N. Kennedy Dr. Volunteers needed. Bill Schaub visited Carol Stream Rotary and sold 3 cartons of citrus fruit. Mayor's Ball raffle tickets and money must be turned in before the event on Nov.21 Meeting adjourned at 1:40pm. |
