George Ellefsen reminded the group that the Rotary is a sponsor of ATHS' Presidential Classroom program, but that a donation was not sent to ATHS last year. Don Hendricks made a motion, seconded by George, to donate $2000 to the Presidential Classroom project when the funds become available. Motion carried.

Bob Watson won the weekly raffle. Bob is also celebrating his first anniversary, so the group sang ‘Happy Anniversary' to him and asked that he share our best wishes with his wife.

Bob Smith introduced guest speakers Dave Bellis and Emily Stern from Rebuilding Together Aurora, a volunteer organization dedicated to helping low-income homeowners through home renovation and repair. Last year the organization worked on 26 houses in Aurora , replacing roofs, pipes, floors and other major home repairs for a total project cost of $130,000. People with an average household income of $20,000 can apply for help with home repairs. Rebuilding Together used approximately 500 volunteers in Aurora last year. Emily is the first paid staff member for the Aurora organization which she became involved through AmeriCorps. AmeriCorps began in 1993 during the Clinton administration will the goal of alleviating poverty in the U.S. Rebuilding Together Aurora is seeking partnerships, financial or volunteer and would be happy to take any interested parties around Aurora to show them the things the organization has accomplished.
