Addison Rotary Meeting

October 31, 2007

Members present:

Meeting opened at with the Pledge, Rotary motto, prayer and lunch.

Don Hendricks shared information about the District conference that will be held at Blue Harbor Resort in Sheboygan on May 1-4, 2008. The conference costs $695. A discount of $100 applies to early registrations (by 11-16-07) and the Addison Rotary will reimburse attendees for an additional $100. Currently Don & Carol Hendricks, Matt Delawder and Cal George intend to attend.

Mayor's Ball raffle tickets and payment were collected. Carol Hendricks and Diane Junokas will attend a final/volunteer training meeting on November 14 at 5pm at Alta Villa.

Bill Schaub will be coordinating the Fruit Sale.

Tickets for the car raffle need to be sold. $740 in tickets have been sold to date. Ron Burns requested that a larger, simpler poster be made to advertise the raffle. Members need to visit other Rotary clubs to sell tickets. Information will be sent for inclusion in the District Rotary newsletter and in the AAIC Shop Talk.

Cal George reviewed the meeting presentation schedule for the next several weeks.

Don Weiss shared information about the Village's plan to host a Brunch with Santa on Sunday, December 16. The Kiwanis, Sister Cities Committee, Women's Club and Rotary are being asked to sell tickets for the event. Proceeds will be returned to the clubs. This event will be a stand-alone event, since the Switchboard will no longer be holding its telethon.

Matt Delawder won the weekly raffle.

George Ellefsen shared information about Bensenville 's Spaghetti Dinner/Raffle to be held on November 7.
