Jim Krage shared information about Addison in the 1940's. Men were at war, St. Paul Lutheran School had 400 students, the public school had 2 teachers and there were 400 children at the Kinderheim(located at the site of the current Village Hall). Children also lived at the Orphan Home, which was located where Lutherbrook now stands. A Fall Festival held in September each year would bring 10,000 people to Addison . The Fireman's carnival-- which included gambling-- provided a source of income for kids who would come the next day to pick up spare change at the carnival site. Jim shared information about the businesses and homes that were located on Lake Street between Villa Ave. and Addison Rd. Addison was home to a large number of plant nurseries. At that time there was no pool or movie theater. Addison began to grow in size in the late 1950's.

The meeting adjourned at 1:20 p.m.
