George Ellefsen announced that all Mayor's Ball raffle ticket money should be turned in to him next Tuesday, October 27 at the meeting at Solace. Please sell all your raffle tickets. All money collected for tickets sold by early November comes directly to Rotary.

Many more silent auction items are needed for the Mayor's Ball. The club needs to provide 20 items for the silent auction. Each club member is being asked to bring a bottle of wine to the October 21 meeting so that we can create (at least one) wine basket for the auction. Irene Boutzarelos will provide a jewelry item. Gary Sinagra has two sports items that are from MCCD. Jim Krage provided a gift certificate. Itasca Bank will provide 2 savings bonds. George will call missing members to see if they have any items to contribute.

Cal George shared information, flyers and order forms for this year's Citrus Sale. 40 pounds cases (4/5 bushel) of oranges and grapefruit will be sold for $30 each. Mixed boxes will cost $31. Cal visited the Roselle/Bloomingdale club on Tuesday and sold 5 cases. The following members will be visiting neighboring Rotary meetings this week to get our sale information out early.

Bill – Lombard

George – Bensenville

Gary - Carol Stream & Elmhurst

Jorge DeLeon – Hillside

Members are encouraged to visit other neighboring clubs in order to make this a successful fundraiser.

Orders will be due by December 1 and the fruit will be delivered and available for pickup at MacGill on Thursday, December 10 and Friday, December 11.

Cal asked if the Interact Club would be interested in selling fruit. All profit made on Interact sales would be earmarked in the Rotary account for Interact Club use.

Scott Helton introduced Interact Club sponsors, Jorge DeLeon and Iridia Nevarez-Niewinski, who introduced two students, Noemi and Jesse, who had recently attended the RYLA conference in Wisconsin . Noemi and Jesse shared information about the activities and structure of the weekend leadership event. They met students from many different schools and countries. Noemi felt that she will be more assertive, more confident and more involved with projects as a result of her experiences at RYLA. Jesse shared that he had learned about leadership, trusting others and the positive outcomes of working with a group. Both students enjoyed the weekend and shared stories about their experiences.

We will not meet on Wednesday next week since we are participating in a joint meeting of the Addison Kiwanis and Rotary is being held on TUESDAY, October 27 at noon at Solace 601, 601 W. Army Trail Blvd.

The Interact Initiation luncheon meeting will be held at Addison Trail High School at noon on Wednesday, November 4. A building tour will be held at 11:15am for any club members who interested in seeing the building changes that are underway at ATHS.

The meeting adjourned at 1:45pm.
