Addison Rotary Meeting August 22, 2007 Members present:
Guests: Ron Hausermann, charter member Meeting opened at 12:05 p.m. with the Pledge, Rotary motto, prayer and lunch. Don Hendricks gave members 25 raffle tickets each for the Sunrise Chevrolet lease car. Each member is encouraged to sell 25 raffle tickets or more. It was announced that an officers' meeting will be scheduled for next Wednesday, August 29 at 11:30 a.m. before the regular meeting. This will be the monthly business meeting. The speaker for today was Matt DeLawder who spoke on the Rotary Foundation and the many international projects funded by the International Rotary Foundation. The Paul Harris Fellow donation was explained. A Paul Harris Fellow is a Rotary member who donates $1000 to the Paul Harris Society. The Paul Harris Society in turn supports numerous national and international projects. Matt DeLawder should be contacted with any questions. Rotary members attending the Rotary Day at the Arlington Park Race Track will meet at 11:15am at Will Call on Sunday, August 26 to pick up tickets. The Addison Park District will be joining our Rotary and their representative Janis Jordan is planning to attend next week. The meeting adjourned at 1:12 p.m. |
