The meeting opened with “ America ”, the pledge, the 4-way test and prayer.

Guests were introduced. Monica DelAngel works at NEDSRA in Addison. She is a past president of her local Rotary club. Bill Levin is a visitor from the Elmhurst Rotary.

Don Hendricks announced that the Rotary Grant Seminar is scheduled for Saturday, Jul 25 from7:30-11am in Burr Ridge. Gary Sinagra might attend the seminar.

Don also informed the club that Chuck Wartman will contact school principals to find out how many dictionaries (English and Spanish) will need to be ordered for 3rd graders in the upcoming school year.

A montion was made to send a $500 contribution to the Kankakee Rotary to help support the exchange student from Mexico. We will ask her to come to Addison and spend some time with our club and students here. Motion carried.

Bob Smith informed the club that Tom Geraghty met with Nick Heidtbrink to explain the club's finances/treasurer's duties with him.

The speaker for the day was Anna Menzini, a member of the DuPage County Bar Association specializing in Wills & Trusts and Estate Planning. Anna explained the importance of making plans and going through the process of making a will and designating Power of Attorney for both health care and property issues. Taking the time to think about how you would like your end of life care to be handled is important and can save your family from making difficult decision. Anna shared valuable information about trusts, guardianships and estate taxes.

The meeting adjourned at 1:30pm
