Joint meeting with the Kiwanis at Lutherbrook Child and Adolescent Center

The meeting opened with America , the Pledge, prayer and lunch.

Lutherbrook executive director Brenton Diers welcomed club members to Lutherbrook and spoke of Lutherbrook's long association with both the Rotary and Kiwanis clubs. He spoke about the Adolescent center which houses 56 children with severe emotional or behavioral issues. Lutherbrook Academy services 80 students who live at home but attend school at one of the Academy's two locations in Addison .

The staff at Lutherbrook works to help students overcome and learn to deal with the extensive traumas they have faced in their lives. The staff is focused on helping each child to learn to live successfully outside of the Lutherbrook environment and they try to limit a child's residential time at Lutherbrook to two years.

Lutherbrook's vision is to expand services, making their expertise in a wide variety of therapies available to more children and families locally.

Simeon Carson distributed Lutherbrook pamphlets and materials to club members.
