Addison Rotary Meeting Members present:
Guests: Ron Falak The Installation dinner is being held at Solace 601 on June 20 at 6:30pm. Sign-up sheet was passed around. A Rotargram handout was shared about welcoming Americans troops and veterans back home when they arrive at Midway Airport on June 25 at 9pm. Cal George will join Park District personnel for a Safety Village meeting in Elmhurst at 11am on Thursday, June 26. Tom Geraghty reported that the Rotary International fund has been paid. George Ellefsen reported on the Mayors Ball meeting held on June 17. The Addison Rec Club and Serenity House have been added to the list of organizations that can benefit from this charity event. The next meeting will be held on August 26 at 5:00pm Lee Daniels and two representatives from Elmhurst Hospital will present information to the Rotary and Kiwanis on September 10. Ron Burns reminded club members about the opportunity to purchase a fire truck pumper in Tennessee for $4500. The truck has 27,000 miles on it and would be donated to a US or Mexican Rotary club located in an area that needs a fire truck. The donation is made to a Rotary club because a club must be involved for maintenance purposes. Ron will inform the owner that the Addison club in interested in purchasing the truck. Fundraiser ideas are needed. Mystery Dinner, TV raffle and corn sale were suggested. Members are encouraged to continue exploring the subject. Gary Sinagra announced that golfers are still needed for the Midwest Council of Children with Disabilities golf outing which is being held on Monday, June 23 at noon at Maple Meadows and White Pines. Meeting adjourned at 1:10 p.m. |
