Addison Rotary Meeting Members present:
The meeting opened with “ America ”, the pledge, the 4-way test and prayer. The Salt Creek clean up on May 30 went well. There were 26 Interact members in canoes. Lunch was great. Next year we can reserve the pavilion at Cricket Creek by applying to the Forest Preserve District any time after January 1. Don Hendricks met Oscar Medina, the ATHS Rotary Scholarship winner, at the clean up and invited him to visit a club meeting. Gary Sinagra urged members to participate in the MCCD Golf Outing on Monday, June 15. He would like to fill a table at the 6:30 dinner. $50 per dinner. Please let Gary know if you can attend. The speaker for the June 10 meeting will be Adam Andrzejewski, who is running for governor of Illinois . Plan to attend and invite a friend. The installation dinner for Bob Smith and the 09-10 Addison Rotary officers will be held at Solace on Friday, June 26 at 6:00pm (7pm dinner). The club will pay for members and will bill for spouses that attend. A sign-up sheet was passed around. Please contact Cal George if you plan to attend. Bob requested a casual dress code for the event. The District Governor's installation dinner is being held on Sunday, June 28 at 3pm at the Hilton Garden Inn in Kankakee . $40 per person. Registration is due by June 10. Please notify Cal George if you plan to attend. There will be a board meeting at 11:30am on Wednesday, June 24. Tom Geraghty announced that when you update your email address through the district website, you can also find out how much you have donated Cal George received an application for club membership from Irene Boutzarelos, who was our speaker at the May 20 meeting. Bylaws require that notice of membership applications must be posted, so that members have the opportunity to object to an application. If any club members wish to deny Irene's application, they must contact Cal with their objection before the Wednesday, June 10 meeting. The meeting adjourned at 1:20pm |
