Addison Rotary Meeting Members present:
Guest: Tom Kallay The meeting opened with the Pledge, Rotary Motto, prayer and lunch. Don Hendricks made the following announcements: Mystery Dinner Theater event - Don Hendricks, Gary Sinagra , Cathy Olivi , Matt Delawder, Phil Jimenez , Tony Cimino , Cal George, Bob Smith , a number of spouses and 4 Kiwanis are signed up to atten the event on Tuesday, May 27 at Alta Villa, 7:00pm dinner. The cost is $45/person for the buffet dinner. May 31 Salt Creek Clean Up Day begins at 8:00am. Clean up begins at Irving Park Road east of Addison Rd. Volunteers are needed to work on this project with students from the ATHS Interact Club. Don Weiss announce that road construction is beginning on Grace St. from Fullerton to North. Grace St. is scheduled to be completed by September. Construction on Fullerton between Addison and Villa will be completed by December. Bob Smith introduced the speaker, Tom Kallay, Community Relations for Nicor, as well as a visiting Rotarian. Tom shared information about Nicor, the portions of Illinois that it serves, and the method Nicor uses to store natural gas that is obtained from Canada and the Gulf Coast . He spoke of the factors that impact gas costs-production, storage, weather and economy---while explaining that Nicor makes their profit not on what they charge for gas, but for the delivery of the gas.
