Addison Rotary Meeting Members present:
The meeting opened with “ America ”, the pledge, the 4-way test and prayer. Rotarians are needed to unload a truck and set out food on Friday, May 22 from 9am to 1pm. The truck will unload at the VFW Hall on Lake Street (behind Subway). This event will happen rain or shine. Kiwanis are also volunteering. The Interact Club will be working at the Army Trail Nature Center at Army Trail & Lombard Rd. on Saturday, May 9 as part of the Park District's Park Pride clean-up day. Rotarians are invited to join the students from 9-11am. One Rotary CD will be cashed in in July. The May 6 meeting will be held at Easter Seals. Gary will bring lunch, then we will be given a tour of the facility. Gary Sinagra and Don Hendricks will be attending the District conference in Lake Geneva . It was suggested that Rotary makes a donation to the Save Driscoll Fund. Gary will call Tom Geraghty to see if he feels $1000 would help. Don Hendricks moved, Don Weiss seconded to make a $250 donation to Boy Scouts. Motion carried. Don Hendricks moved, Gary Sinagra seconded to make a $500 donation to MCCD. Motion carried. Don Weiss moved, Tony Cimino seconded to make a $500 donation to Alliance for Smiles. Motion carried. Rotary will sponsor a hole and Don Hendricks will play in the Lutherbrook Golf Outing. The bill for freight for citrus fruit ordered from Diversified Citrus is still outstanding. Freight charge was double the expected rate. Bill Schaub suggested that we use Indian River as citrus supplier next November. ACCI Prayer Breakfast is being held at Glendale Lakes on May 7 from 7:30-9am. Rotary will purchase a table for 8 for $150. Membership-building ideas were discussed: Mail ‘This is Rotary' publication to all businesses (1700 business licenses in Addison) The meeting adjourned at 1:25pm
