Addison Rotary Meeting
March 25, 2009

Members present:

The meeting opened with “ America ”, the pledge, the 4-way test and prayer.

The Rotary District Conference will be held April 30-May 2 at The Abbey in Lake Geneva . Gary Sinagra will attend.

The District Assembly is on April 4 in Willowbrook. Breakfast is at 7:45am, the assembly runs from 8:30am-noon. Three members can attend for free. George Ellefsen and Bob Smith will attend.

Housing is needed for students involved in the Youth Exchange.

Lutherbrook's Golf Outing is Tuesday, June 9.

MCA's Golf Outing is also in June

Driscoll's Gold Outing is June 22.

Next year's officers are as follows:
President – Bob Smith
President elect – Gary Sinagra
Treasurer – Don Hendricks
Secretary – Tony Cimino
Sargent at arms – Bob Watson

The club will cash in one of its CDs and make some aggressive donations.

Officers will need to visit Itasca and Oxford Banks to update signature cards.

The Rotary will, once again, sponsor the Senior Spring Breakfast to be held at Wesley School on Wednesday, April 22. Breakfast will be served at 9:30am

The candidate luncheon on Wednesday, April 1 will be cancelled due to the small number of club members that are able to attend. The Kiwanis Club will be unable to attend (due to their annual Pancake Breakfast on April 4) and the information didn't go out to Chamber members. Cal will notify candidates that they do not need to attend the April 1 meeting/lunch, but if they choose to, we will warmly welcome them.

George Ellefsen will look into donating benches that would be placed in the Village Green.

Volunteers are needed for the Fire/Police Merit Review Commission. They meet on 5 or 6 Wednesday evenings. Don Hendricks and Gary Sinagra volunteered to attend meetings.

Chicago Wolves outing is scheduled for April 11 at the Allstate Arena.

Gary Sinagra introduced the need to aggressively market the Addison Rotary Club to the community:

We need to develop a variety of print pieces:

•  Business card with date/time of meetings

•  ½ sheet flyer with basic recruiting information (for pizza boxes)

•  updated trifold
