Members of the Addison Trail High School Interact Club.

 

Addison Trail student Daniel Alonzo welcomed the Addison Rotary members and guests to Addison Trail on behalf of L.A.D.I.E.S. and C.I.M.A

Lilliano Rios, Interact President, Eduardo Garnica, Vice President, and Alejandra Vivanco, Vice President, presented a slide show describing activities undertaken by the Interact Club. The Club has volunteered for P.A.D.S (Public Action to Deliver Shelter) at least six times and have an extended PADS volunteer night scheduled for April 29. This spring, they plan to conduct a river clean up project. Future plans include involvement with the Cradle Project Organization which provides cradles for children in Africa and the Mexican Orphanage Donation Project which will involve a clothing and fundraising drive.

Interact sponsors Jorge DeLeon and Iridia Nevarez Niewinski were introduced. They thanked all the people who have helped the club be successful.

Don Hendricks presented the Interact officers with Interact/Rotary plaques and banners.

Lilliana Rios presented Interact members with membership cards and pins and new members were congratulated by the officers of the ATHS Interact and Addison Rotary Clubs.

Jim Czerwionka, District 6450's 2009-10 governor elect, spoke to the students, welcoming them into the Rotary organization. He shared the impact of Rotary in international and local service projects. He also spoke of benefits that can directly affect high school students-the exchange student program and scholarships programs.
