Addison Rotary Meeting February 13, 2008 Members present:
Guests: Noel Rolle & Lisa Zucchero, Addison Park District Meeting opened at with Pledge, Rotary motto, prayer and lunch. The weekly raffle resumed, run by the new Sergeant at Arms, Bob Watson. Bob won the raffle. George Ellefsen introduced Mike Cohen of the Humanitarian Service Project. Mike thanked the Addison Rotary for their support of the programs since 1992. The club has supported three senior citizen, eight children and has also made Christmas contributions. The mission of the humanitarian Service Project is to alleviate the suffering of the needy in DuPage and Kane Counties . The organization works to fill needs that are not provided for by other agencies. HSP was founded in 1979 and moved to a new location in Carol Stream one year ago. The organization's core program includes the Senior Citizen Project, the Children's Birthday Project, Feed the Kids Project and the Christmas Offering. Mr. Cohen asked that the Addison Rotary consider renewing its financial support of HSP and encouraged members to volunteer their time in support of the organization's many projects. The club congratulated Mr.& Mrs. Jim Krage who are celebrating their 50 th anniversary on February 15. The meeting adjourned at 1:10p.m.
