Addison Rotary Meeting January 30, 2008 Members present:
Guest: Rick Thiernau Meeting opened at with Pledge, Rotary motto, prayer and lunch. Tony Cimino, Don Hendricks and Matt Delawder will be attending the March 3 Chicago Rush arena football game. Our club will pay $10 of ticket price. The Addison Trail Interact Club luncheon will be held at noon on Wednesday, February 27 in the Blazer Room at Addison Trail. Rotarians can park in the circle drive on the west side of the school for that event. The 2 nd quarter billing was sent out. Matt Delawder introduced the speaker for the day, Rick Thiernau, Past District Governor for Rotary District 6450. Rick thanked the Addison Rotary for their support of the Haiti Water Well Project that he initiated two years ago. Rick also spoke about the power of Rotary. A health fair, the Peruvian doctor mission, the water well project and the polio inoculation initiative are examples of projects that were started by individuals that have had a major impact on the world. Rick challenged the club members to wear their Rotary pin each day to remind them of the good work that is being done and to give them an opportunity to share information about Rotary with others. George Ellefsen announced that the club needs to elect a new sergeant-at-arms to replace Jim Gregorio. The Shape of Addison Town Hall Meeting is being held at Village Hall at 7pm on Wednesday, January 30. The meeting adjourned at 1:10p.m.
