The meeting opened with America , the Pledge, 4-Way Test and invocation.

Don Hendricks asked for a moment of silence to remember Bill Brewer, who recently passed away. Bob Smith shared some thoughts from Bill's funeral.

A board meeting will be held on January 28 at 11:15am.

Don Hendricks introduced Stephanie Walsh, Associate Director for Easter Seals DuPage and the Fox Valley Region. Stephanie shared that the organization was founded in 1920 by Edgar Allen, a Rotarian who sold his business and donated $100,000 to build the International Society for Crippled Children in 1920. Renamed Easter Seals in 1967, they serve 1.3 million people nationally. DuPage Easter Seals serves DuPage, Kane and Kendall Counties . They currently serve 86 Addison clients, including 6-8 District 4 students. Easter Seals offers physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech services.

Their suitability program offers PT, OT and nutrition therapy in an innovative, time-intensive 3-week program that allows children to make great gains in a short period of time. Other services offered at the Villa Park center include an Assisted Technology department, Dental, Optometrist, Mobility and Position clinics, a child development center which serves disabled and non-disabled children and audiology services. Each child get services to maximize their abilities regardless of their ability to pay. Stephanie shared information about the COD/Villa Park Photography Exhibition and invited the club members to visit the VP location again.
