Addison Rotary Meeting January 9, 2008 Members present:
Guest: Terri Bresnahan, Addison School District 4 Meeting opened at with Pledge, Rotary motto, prayer and lunch. Don Hendricks announced that George Ellefsen won the car lease raffle. That information will be published in the Addison Press. Forms to request that the State of Illinois create a Rotary license plate were distributed. Completing and sending in the form do not obligate the member to purchase a Rotary plate if they are approved. The Rotary will recognize the new Addison Trail Interact Club at a luncheon in February. The date will be determined soon. Tom Geraghty requested that members give their make-ups to Tony Cimino, so the quarter billing can be sent out. Bill Schaub requested that any outstanding citrus sale payments be turned in Jim Gregorio is retiring and closing NorthCenter Camera. He is also leaving Rotary. Don & Carol Hendricks attended the Rose Bowl Parade and Game. They located the Rotary float and visited with Rotarians there. Mayor's Ball checks were distributed at the January 7 Village meeting. The Rotary profit from the event was over $2500. Don Hendricks introduced the speaker Terri Bresnahan, Director of Education and Information Technology for School District 4. Terri outlined the district's Technology plan describing the infrastructure, hardware and software upgrades that have been implemented in the past year. The goal of the Technology plan is to support teaching and improve student learning. The implementation of this plan has been quite successful and District 4 is serving as a model for other school districts looking to upgrade their technology. The speaker for the January 16 meeting will be provided by Janis Jordan. Park District representatives will present referendum information. The meeting adjourned at 1:18p.m.
